About Jonlim
Hello, welcome to some random bits and pieces of my life!
Jonlim is from Singapore – born a city boy, currently living a country life. He is currently a second-year student at the University of Virginia, in the United States of America. Having spent the first nineteen years of his life in the small island-city of Singapore, this is his second year spending such a long time away from home learning, exploring, discovering, and re-discovering. It has been a really refreshing experience, and he strongly wishes that no matter where he goes or what he does in the future, he will always remain a fervent student.
He thoroughly appreciates conversations, and especially conversations about opinions, perspectives, possibilities, the future. They are what keeps him alive throughout the day, and up all night. He believes a genuine and sincere education is the key to setting the world free from its problems. His current interests include, but are not confined to, Philosophy, Politics, Law, History, Psychology, Sociology, Economics, Justice, Literature, Languages (currently trying to pick up Russian), Architecture, citizen-initiated Journalism, Graphic Design for social good, martial arts, running, a good talk over good food. Among other things, he believes in good coffee and tasty chocolate.
If you’re wondering where he’s from, he is/was part of:
Raffles Institution ’07
Raffles Institution (Junior College) ’09
RJC 28th Students’ Council
Singapore Armed Forces Ninja Coy 01/10

Hello there. Are you from FPS by any chance?
Nope i’m not!
Hi, nice to meet you !
Jon!
Happy Birthday bro :)
Great writing man… love the posts. Nothing beats putting a pen to paper (or fingertips to the keyboard) to sort out the whilrwind that sometimes just takes over the mind. Definitely lots of maturity and thought put into the posts, and I could resonate with lots of what you said. Continue to be that great dude that we’ve all known you to be!
And on this wonderful day, may God not only bless you, but bless others through you as you’ve been a blessing for me.
Take care, bro; and happy birthday once again.
Koon
